Dorothy was quite talented at many things including braiding hair. 

We were part of the same Dragon boat team. I remember during one race, one of the girls was concerned about having her photo taken after the races. We had just found out that the winning team's photo might be in the school paper. 

A race can get intense. Water and sweat just do not make photo ready hair. There are no showers at these races. Dorothy offered to pretty much every girl on the team to braid their hair so we could look nice for photos after the race. 

It was one of the many sweet and thoughtful acts of kindness i witnessed from her.
