Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. -Mark Twain
I remember feeling discouraged as I was sitting for certification exams. Dorothy was the one who would go grab ice cream with with me, and tell me that I could do anything I set my mind to. I eventually did pass my exams, and she framed the certificate in celebration.
I remember sharing with her my bucket list of things I'd like to do in this lifetime, and eliminating all the items that I wouldn't be able to do in the next year. Dorothy was the one who asked why not try to make at least one happen. I had learned how to play a song on an ocarina and learn how to belly dance on my list. She got me an ocarina in the shape of my favorite animal, a cat. And she signed us up for a belly dancing workshop. It was so out of our comfort zones, but so great.
